Learn Skills

We invite you to explore, experiment, and take brave steps, rooted in a space where you can grow at your own pace.

Make Friends

In a world where young women often feel disconnected, we create space to rebuild connection, belonging, and self-worth.

Feel Good

We’ll meet you where you are, and walk beside you as you grow into your own power.

Dear young woman,

If life feels a lot right now… or if you feel anxious, isolated, frustrated or like you’re always trying to keep up and still not quite getting it right, SisterWood might be for you.

Maybe you’re tired of being told what to do, of fed up with pretending that everything’s fine. Maybe you just want a break from all of it.

SisterWood is a chance to step away from the pressure. It’s not about being “good” at anything or putting on a face. It’s about being outdoors, around other girls who get it even if no one is saying it out loud.

We make things with our hands. We learn useful skills. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we don’t. Sometimes we laugh. Sometimes we just sit quietly, but we always take care of one another.

If you are between 12 and 16 and you live nearby (TQ12 6ES), you might be suitable for our programme. You’ll need a professional to refer you (GP, social worker, teacher etc) but you can reach out and ask use questions about this, just use the button below to get in touch.

We hope to see you in the woods.

Lots of love,

SisterWood x

What happens in the woods?

At SisterWood you’ll never be pushed to join in with anything you’re not ready for. This is a space where you can be yourself, take your time, and try new things in a gentle way.

Everything we do is about helping you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected, without pressure or judgement.

Session Structure

At SisterWood, we meet once a week during term time, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. It’s a full day, but it doesn’t feel like school. We start gently, sitting around the fire in a circle. You don’t have to speak, but if you want to, you can share how you’re feeling or something you’re grateful for, or something that is on your mind. It’s a calm way to start the day and feel part of the group.

What’s Included

The rest of the day is spent outdoors, doing things that feel good for the group. That might be making fires, building dens, crafting with natural materials, walking through the woods, or trying simple mindfulness or movement activities. Some days are more active, some are slower, it depends on how everyone is feeling.

The Heart of SisterWood:

Sharing Meals Together

Sharing food around the fire is a big part of each day at SisterWood. We cook simple, tasty vegetarian meals together, using fresh, local ingredients, and sometimes even bits we’ve foraged from the land. You’ll learn how to cook, how to eat in a way that supports your body and mind, and what it means to look after yourself through food.

Eating together, with no rush and no pressure, helps us feel connected, like a little community in the woods.
